This is a "service" for sale, not any items. I have a 10 record (max.) iSonic ultrasonic record cleaning machine that I've used to clean my collection. A ultrasonic cleaning machine will clean a record that no hand cleaning process will touch. I'm keeping mine to continue using as my collection grows but, in the meantime, I've decided to offer the cleaning service to others that may be interested in having their collection cleaned. You bring me your collection or however many you want cleaned, and I'll clean them @ $2.00 per record..so a double or triple album would be $4.00 or $6.00 respectively. Now, if you don't know or haven't heard of using an ultrasonic machine to clean your albums, google it. Tons of information online, almost all of it praising the deep cleaning effect of ultrasonics to remove the dirt and debris way down in the grooves where the needle rides while playing. Now let's be realistic..an ultrasonic cleaning machine has limitations, just like most anything else..it is NOT a "cure all". It won't repair any scratches..once a record is scratched, it's done..there is NO fix for a scratch no matter what you've heard or read. Then, it's just a matter of how bad the scratch is..if it only causes a pop while playing, then you might can live with it..if it causes a skip, then the record is basically trash. If you have a record that has been poorly maintained or not cleaned for a long time, say years, it may not be able to remove all the debris down in the grooves or it may take more than one cleaning to remove most of it. It won't fix any warps in an album. I have some records from the 70's that looked ok when first purchased but you could tell they were not properly taken care through the years. Dust, debris, light scuffs, maybe a light scratch or two or more here and there. Cleaned it with my basic cleaning process, the one I do before playing a record, put it on the table and there's pops and background noise all over the whole album, both sides. Run it through a 20 minute cycle in the ultrasonic and the difference is night and day. Some I've had to clean twice or more to get most of the dirt out of the grooves. If you have a record and you clean it with whatever cleaning process you use before playing it and, while playing it, you still hear snap, crackle, pop (not caused by a scratch), then you have a record that needs to be ultrasonically cleaned. It is, by far, the best way to date, to get your records as clean and noise free as possible. I use the record cleaning solution made by iSonic and a few drops of "The Groovinator", a deep cleaning concentrate solution made for vinyl records. I've found that combination to be very good for cleaning albums. I don't use any alcohol as that can be bad on the vinyl..just the solution. Currently, I can only clean LP's..not 45's as I don't have the adapter needed for my machine to clean 45's. I can clean 10 at one time but I limit each cleaning cycle to just 8 records to allow each record a wider space between each other for better cleaning action. After cleaning, it is strongly advised to put the record back into an anti-static plastic sleeve, before going back into the old record sleeve..some of the old factory record sleeves are pretty dirty themselves by now. Keeping the record as clean as possible after an ultrasonic cleaning is key. If you don't have any, get a pack or two. Text or call and we can set something up..if I don't answer, leave a voicemail..I'll get back to you.
